We love to keep chickens. They make such interesting pets. They are so entertaining and the kids love them. Ours are ex battery hens, which means they were rescued from a battery farm, where conditions are often awful. Before we get them, they are in a right state. Usually featherless, skinny, nervous and some struggle to walk. They have never seen daylight, felt the sun on their face or the grass beneath their feet. We love them back to a healthy and happy life.
Last time we collected some Hens we were asked if we would like to re-home a cockerel too. So we have had Louis for about a year now. He is supposed to be in charge of his female friends, but they boss him around.
