Remember Remember

Remember Remember the 5th of November
Gunpowder, treason and plot.
I see no reason why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot
Off we go to watch our local fireworks display.
The kids wrapped up nice and warm
and we were still all freezing...
Very Very cold night.

Lots of OOOO's
and Ahhhhs
as the whole of Britain remember Guy Fawkes and the Gunpowder plot.

Fawkes took the lead in 1605 to blow up the houses of parliment at Westminster.
It was all part of the Catholic effort to bring down the protestant monachy in England.
Fawkes was apprehended during the act itself and sent to the tower for torture.

Guy Fawkes night was set to remind all Englishmen to be vigilant in the defense of the realm.
Today it represents a fun night out and people tend to view Guy Fawkes more of a hero for being brave enough to stand up to an oppressive and unjust state.

What a Super Display!
